‘New Boundaries’ Chronicles Inspiring Journeys of Snowsports Athletes with Prosthetic Legs
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Adaptive extreme sports, like snowboarding, are becoming increasingly popular among adaptive athletes. But what is it like to be an adaptive snowboarder? “New Boundaries”, a docuseries launched in 2024, delves into the experiences of prosthetic leg-wearing snowboarding athletes.

“New Boundaries” centers on Marian, a 34-year-old adaptive extreme sports enthusiast, as he makes his way back to the slopes after a devastating skiing accident resulted in the loss of his leg. Raised in the Alps, Marian is the great-grandson of one of Europe’s pioneering skiers. The mountains have always been a part of his life—until an avalanche forced him to reassess everything.
That was three years ago. Now, Marian is learning to snowboard with a prosthetic leg and is determined to qualify for the Paralympics to represent Germany.
The series also explores the story of Noah Elliott, a 27-year-old American Paralympic gold medalist snowboarder, while raising his daughter. Noah lost his leg to cancer a decade ago and continues to push beyond his limits. Despite the obstacles he faces, he strives to cultivate a positive mindset about his amputee journey.
Produced by Ottobock, a leading prosthetics company, “New Horizons” is available to stream on YouTube.
