You should wear your shinker anytime you are not wearing your prosthesis. Typically new amputees begin wearing a prosthetic shrinker once the suture line has begun healing. Please consult your physician and/or prosthetist on whether you can use a prosthetic shrinker before your sutures are removed. When wearing a prosthetic shrinker at night and it begins rolling down, please pull it back up into place. However, if it falls off during sleep don't stress, just remember to put it back on in the morning before getting out of bed. You may remove your prosthetic shrinker for bathing and 1-2 fifteen minute breaks during the day while in bed.
