STEP 2: Find your size - SYMMETRICAL Profile
Take your top and bottom measurements and use the chart to determine your size. If you're in-between sizes, we suggest remeasuring again to be on the safe side. If the size you arrived at after measuring seems too big or small, in some cases it helps to use the size of your current liner as a very rough guide. The size may be printed on the liner or you can contact our team and provide the serial number printed on the side.

STEP 3: Length
Length is a matter of preference. You can trim this liner with a very sharp scissors. Start by applying your Willowwood Alpha SmartTemp Prosthetic Liner and mark on the liner where you want to trim. Remove your liner and trim at your mark.
When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic liner.

How to Use
How to Maintain Your Alpha SmartTemp Gel Liner
Your Alpha SmartTemp Gel Liner incorporates Phase Change Materials (PCMs) that help regulate the liner's temperature by storing heat from your body or the surrounding air. This storage helps prevent the liner's temperature from rising excessively. However, there is a limit to the amount of heat the PCMs can store. Once this limit is reached, the liner will behave like a standard liner in terms of temperature regulation. To restore the cooling benefits of the PCMs, you need to remove the accumulated heat from the liner.
Here’s how you can do it:
Remove the Liner: Take the liner off your limb.
Cool the Liner: Place the liner in a cold or air-conditioned environment for a few hours. This allows the PCMs to release the stored heat. For faster results, you can immerse the liner in a cold basin of water. Simply running the liner under cold water might not be as effective in completely removing the stored heat.
Note: The duration required to release the heat depends on the amount of heat stored and the method you use to cool the liner.

Directions for Use
Prior to applying your Alpha Smart Temp Liner make sure your residual limb is clean, dry, and free of any soap residue. Cover any open wounds and non-intact skin with a product.. WillowWood states to avoid using any type of animal based lotions or powders on your residual limb or liner. These products may damage your WillowWood Liner.
Invert your WillowWood Smart Temp liner so that the logo is on the inside. Place the end of your liner against the end of your limb. If using a pin lock liner, center the pin attachment on the bottom of your limb. Carefully roll your liner onto your limb.
***Warning: Do not pull your liner onto your limb. Pulling the liner may stretch the skin and result in an uncomfortable fit and possible skin issues along the edge of your liner. Last, make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets between the liner and your limb. Air pockets cause excessive sweating.

Proper hygiene is critical when wearing any prosthetic liner. Your Alpha SmartTemp Liner must be thoroughly cleaned each day and disinfected once a week.
