Measuring Tips & Videos

When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic sleeve.

ESP Flexisleeve Prosthetic Sleeve

Engineered Silicone Products (ESP) designed the Flexisleeve Prosthetic Sleeve with the moderate to high activity individual in mind. What differentiates this prosthetic sleeve is its special coating to prevent early deterioration and a textured interior for improved grip and suspension. Coupled with a 43 degree pre-flexed position, should make completing your 25 mile cycling trip your only concern. Installation and removal of this prosthetic sleeve is relatively easy due to the latex-free neoprene material having plenty of stretch. ESP Flexisleeve Prosthetic Sleeves are great as primary or secondary suction suspension for below-the-knee amputees.  Combine with Knit-Rite's Sleeve Saver and this ESP sleeve will last you months.

We would like to bring to your attention an important consideration regarding the usage of neoprene suspension sleeves as a replacement for a gel or silicone sleeves. Each of these materials functions distinctly in suspending your prosthesis, and it is essential to be aware of their unique characteristics.

Neoprene or latex sleeves, in particular, employ compression, friction, and some even offer suction to effectively suspend your prosthetic leg. Consequently, transitioning from a gel or silicone sleeve to a neoprene sleeve can present certain challenges. Due to their differing properties, a neoprene sleeve may feel considerably tighter or possibly excessively snug when compared to the more pliant nature of gel-like materials.

Please read our Prosthetic Sleeve Material Primer for more information.
