When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic liner.

Alps Silicone Pro Liner Description

The Alps Silicone Pro Liner is revolutionary prosthetic liner formulated with medical grade silicone. What makes this silicone liner special is Alps' silicone formula and its thin, non constricting  3mm uniform profile.  These two features in combination, allow your residual limb to thermoregulate, leading to less sweating during hot summer months. The easy to clean silicone surface is less sticky--80% less tackiness--leading to reduced friction over standard silicone and a more delicate skin adhesion bond between you and your prosthesis.

Benefits

  • Medical Grade Silicone has a low coefficient, providing a very soft adhesion and minimal friction
  • Available in both Below-Knee and Above-Knee sizing and styles
  • Silicone formulated to combat excessive sweating without added chemicals
  • Designed for all activity levels
  • Silicone Pro Liner is 3mm thickness and lightweight construction
  • Premium seamless knitted outer covering
  • Indicated for delicate skin
  • Latex free and hypoallergenic
  • Easy to clean silicone
  • Beige color
  • Locking pin is not included
  • *Not vacuum approved as a replacement for the gel liner initially provided with your Vacuum System
  • Made in USA
  • Sold individually in a polybag

Suggested Use

The locking version of the Silicone Pro features an intelligent U matrix to limit vertical stretch and avoid any tightness you may feel along the bottom of your limb during walking. The knitted outer fabric has a premium feel and function. The Alps Silicone Pro Prosthetic Liner is available in both cushion and locking. If you replace your current liner with this Alps liner, please ensure your current liner is 3mm thick.

Read our Prosthetic Liner Guide for more information on prosthetic liners.

How-to Install and Apply

Invert your Alps liner so that the logo is on the inside. Place the end of your liner against the end of your limb. If using a pin lock liner, center the pin attachment on the bottom of your limb. Carefully roll your liner onto your limb.

***Warning: Do not pull your liner onto your limb. Pulling the liner may stretch the skin and result in an uncomfortable fit and possible skin issues along the edge of your liner. Last, make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets between the liner and your limb. Air pockets cause excessive sweating.
