STEP 2: Find your size

Take your bottom measurement and use the chart to determine your size. If you're in-between sizes, we suggest remeasuring again to be on the safe side. If the size you arrived at, after measuring seems too big or small, in some cases it helps to use the size of your current liner as a very rough guide. The size may be printed on the liner. Continue to STEP 3: Length

When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic liner.

Suggested Use

OptiGel’s superior adhesion provides reliable suspension, giving you confidence in every step. Its soft, smooth texture helps protect your limb by reducing friction and minimizing the stresses that can come from everyday movement within your prosthetic socket. The liner's premium knit fabric also minimizes pistoning and vertical stretch, delivering greater stability and control for a more comfortable fit.

For those prosthetic users wearing the locking version, it includes an innovative U-shaped matrix to further limit vertical movement while accommodating the natural shape of your residual limb. The U Band helps prevent up-and-down movement and allows for easier expansion and accommodation of bulbous limbs. With an internal metal umbrella, this liner offers enhanced durability without the need for external adhesives.

Available in both cushion and locking options, the Alps ProFit Liner is designed to fit those with above-knee (AK) and below-knee (BK) limb loss. When replacing your liner, be sure to check if your current liner is 6mm or 3mm thick for the best possible fit.

Read our Prosthetic Liner Guide for more information on prosthetic liners.

How-to Apply

Prior to applying your Alps ProFit Liner make sure your residual limb is clean, dry, and free of any soap residue. Cover any open wounds and non-intact skin with a product similar to Spenco. Alps states to avoid using any type of animal based lotions or powders on your residual limb or liner. These products may damage your Alps Liner.

Invert your Alps prosthetic liner so that the logo is on the inside. Place the end of your liner against the end of your limb. If using a pin lock liner, center the pin attachment on the bottom of your limb. Carefully roll your prosthetic liner onto your limb.

***Warning: Do not pull your liner onto your limb. Pulling the liner may stretch the skin and result in an uncomfortable fit and possible skin issues along the edge of your liner. Last, make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets between the liner and your limb. Air pockets cause excessive sweating.

Clean the gel side of your ProFit liner using lukewarm water and a pH balanced prosthetic cleanser. Apply your prosthetic cleanser with a clean, soft cloth or sponge.
