STEP 1: Thigh Measurement

Measure the circumference of your thigh 4 inches (10 cm) above the middle of your knee cap. Continue to STEP 2: Find your size

How to measure alps clearline reinforced sleeve.

STEP 2: Find your size

Take your thigh circumference and use the chart to determine your size. If you're in-between sizes, we suggest remeasuring again to be on safe side.

Small, 20 cm 25-30
Medium, 24 cm 31-34
Medium +, 26 cm 35-37
Large, 28 cm 38-40
X-Large, 32 cm 41-45

When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic sleeve.

Alps Superior Performance Sleeve Description

The Alps Superior Performance Sleeve (SPS) by Alps South was designed for high activity prosthetic users and adaptive athletes. The Alps team engineered the Superior Performance Sleeve with their high density gel (HD) formula to better match the firm texture and feel of silicone, while still retaining the comfort of gel. A firmer gel translates into greater stability and control while participating in high activity events. The Superior Performance Sleeve is suggested for those amputees that currently wear a silicone sleeve similar to Ossur's Iceross Sleeve.

To keep up with activity prosthetic users, the Alps team added a high performance durable fabric that prevents excessive vertical stretch and maximizes durability. Horizontal stretch is not limited and permits complete freedom of movement, making this a great contender for anyone who loves cycling or yoga.

  • Designed for highly active prosthetic users
  • Creates a secure seal
  • High performance fabric provides long term wear
  • Fabric prevents excessive vertical stretch and limits pistoning
  • Works for all activity levels
  • Excellent range of motion and easy knee flexion
  • HD Gel offers similar firm feel as silicone, while still protecting boney prominences
  • Available in 3mm and 6mm uniform thicknesses
  • Latex free and hypoallergenic
  • Available in black color
  • Made in USA
  • Sold individually in polybag

Suggested Use

The Superior Performance Sleeve creates secure suspension by sealing with the skin without compromising circulation. This below-knee sleeve is approved for use with either suction or vacuum systems (includes a pump). Installation is a breeze and cleaning is easy with Otto Bock Derma Clean. This below-the-knee prosthetic sleeve offers the perfect blend of high performance and durability.

How-to Install and Apply

Installing your Superior Performance Sleeve (SPS) is easier than most sleeves. Insert the SPS Sleeve so that the inside is facing out and roll the sleeve up onto the socket.  Begin rolling and working the reflected lower half of your sleeve over your socket, until it's full reflected over your prosthetic socket. Once your sleeve is fully installed, begin rolling your sleeve from the top down to a level below your socket's trimelines.  When you're done it should look like a floating tube or a donut around your socket. Now your prosthetic leg is ready for you to place your residual limb inside and begin rolling your sleeve upward. Place your residual limb inside the socket and roll your SPS sleeve onto your thigh.
