STEP  1: Thigh Measurement

Measure the circumference of your thigh 4 inches (10 cm) above the middle of your knee cap. Continue to STEP 2: Find your size

How to measure alps clearline reinforced sleeve.

STEP 2: Find your size

Take your thigh circumference and use the chart to determine your size. If you're in-between sizes, we suggest remeasuring again to be on the safe side.

Small 25-30 cm
Medium 31-34 cm
Medium Plus 35-37 cm
Large 38-40 cm
X-Large 41-45 cm
2X-Large 46-60 cm

When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic sleeve.

Alps Extreme Sleeve Description

The Alps Extreme Sleeve (SFK) by Alps South was built for all activities and users. The Alps team incorporated their grip gel formula into the Extreme Sleeve to offer better skin adhesion. Greater skin adhesion translates into less constriction or tightness and the tacky gel prevents skin bunching behind the knee for most prosthetic users. In theory, if you experience skin irritation along the sleeve's top edge, their Grip Gel formula should solve this problem.

  • **Manufacturer is experiencing 1-3 week production delays for some sizes.
  • Designed for low to highly active BK prosthesis users
  • Creates a secure seal for either suction or vacuum systems
  • Alps Grip Gel reduces bunching behind the knee

  • Made in USA
  • Sold individually in polybag

Suggested Use

The outer fabric covering is knitted with less vertical stretch which translates into greater stability and control while participating in high activity events like walking fast or sports. Horizontal stretch is not limited and enables complete freedom of movement, making this a great contender for anyone who loves cycling or yoga. The Extreme Sleeve is suggested for those amputees that currently wear a gel sleeve similar to the Meridian Sleeve.

The Extreme Sleeve creates secure suspension by sealing with the skin without compromising circulation. This below knee sleeve is approved for use with either suction or vacuum systems (includes a pump). Installation is a breeze and cleaning is easy with Amputee Essentials Prosthetic Cleanser. This below-the-knee prosthetic sleeve offers the perfect blend of high performance and durability.

How-to Install and Apply

Installing your Alps Extreme Sleeve is easier than most sleeves. Insert the Extreme Sleeve so that the inside is facing out and roll the sleeve up onto the socket.  Begin rolling and working the reflected lower half of your sleeve over your socket, until it's full reflected over your prosthetic socket. Once your sleeve is fully installed, begin rolling your sleeve from the top down to a level below your socket's trimelines.  When you're done it should look like a floating tube or a donut around your socket. Now your prosthetic leg is ready for you to place your residual limb inside and begin rolling your sleeve upward. Place your residual limb inside the socket and roll your Extreme sleeve onto your thigh.

Alps Extreme Sleeve Materials

The Alps Extreme Sleeve uses Alps' Grip Gel to maintain its place for a tight and confident suspension. Grip Gel is a TPE gel that is formulated to be slightly more tacky for better skin adhesion.

Care Instructions

Daily: Be sure to clean the Alps Extreme Sleeve on a daily basis with a light washcloth and neutral/pH-balanced soap, Amputee Essentials Prosthetic Cleanser and Ottobock Derma Clean are especially made for this purpose. Do not scrub or rub the gel during washing, this can damage the gel. Rinse well because soap residue can cause skin issues. Make sure your Alps sleeve is completely dry before using.

Weekly: Place a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a soft, clean cloth. Do not soak the Extreme Sleeve in alcohol. Wipe the sleeve with a the cloth thoroughly, wipe dry with a towel. To remove a stain on the fabric side, use a cloth dampened in nail polish remover and rub until clean. Do NOT soak in nail polish or you will dissolve the gel!
