Alps SFR- Fabric Reinforced EasySleeve is a gel prosthetic suspension sleeve designed for those amputees with sensitive skin searching for a durable BK sleeve . This suspension sleeve allows complete freedom of movement and at the same time secures by sealing with the skin without restricting circulation. Alps EasySleeve uses the same EasyGel material that is found in Alps’s Flexion Comfort, Thermoformable, and Distal Cushion prosthetic liners. Their EasyGel formula contains antioxidants intended to remove toxins from the body and help your skin reestablish its natural hydration level. Concerned about bending your knee? The combination of EasyGel and an elastic outer fabric will allow you to fully bend your knee while at the movies when someone is trying to slide past your seat. This below the knee suspension sleeve is an alternative to using a prosthetic liner with locking pin suspension or adds security to a pin suspension, without any loss of comfort.

Materials

Alps’ uses a proprietary compound called Easygel and is made from a combination of Styrene Triblock Copolymer & Mineral Oil.

Directions for Use

Although it is not necessary to apply any type of lubricant to your residual limb you may use either talcum powder or Alps Skin Lotion. Avoid petroleum jelly and other oil based lubricants, as they will damage your EasySleeve SFR. Apply talcum powder to the inside of the EasySleeve. Invert the EasySleeve so that the inside is facing out and roll the sleeve up onto your prosthetic socket. Place your residual limb inside the socket and roll the EasySleeve onto your thigh. Many Prosthetists would instruct below knee amputees to roll their sleeves on versus pulling on to prevent any skin from being pulled taught along your thigh.
