Measure the bottom circumference of your residual limb 2 inches (5 cm) up from the bottom of your limb. Also measure the top circumference 15-16 inches (38-40 cm) up from the bottom of your limb. Continue to STEP 2: Find your size

Take your Top and Bottom circumferences and use the chart to determine your size. If you're in-between sizes, we suggest remeasuring again to be on the safe side.

When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic sleeve.

How-to Apply

Installing your Alliance Gel Sleeve is easier than most sleeves. Insert the Alliance Prosthetic Sleeve so that the inside is facing out and roll the sleeve up onto the socket. Begin rolling and working the reflected lower half of your sleeve over your socket, until it's full reflected over your prosthetic socket. Once your sleeve is fully installed, begin rolling your sleeve from the top down to a level below your socket's trimelines. When you're done it should look like a floating tube or a donut around your socket. Now your prosthetic leg is ready for you to place your residual limb inside and begin rolling your sleeve upward. Place your residual limb inside the socket and roll your Alliance Gel Sleeve onto your thigh.

    Alliance Gel Sleeve Materials

    Alliance Gel with Antibacterial and Anti-sweating properties, Thermoplastic Gel (TPE). 

    Care Instructions

    Daily: Be sure to clean the Alliance Gel Sleeve on a daily basis with a light washcloth and neutral/pH-balanced soap, Amputee Essentials Prosthetic Cleanser especially made for this purpose. Do not scrub or rub the gel during washing, this can damage the gel. Rinse well because soap residue can cause skin issues. Make sure your Alliance Gel sleeve is completely dry before using.

    Amputee Essentials strongly recommends that the Alliance Gel Sleeve sleeve be laundered after 8 - 16 hours of wear, and allowed to dry completely before applying to the prosthesis. Hand wash, No bleach or solvents, Air Dry Thoroughly.

     

    Weekly: Place a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a soft, clean cloth. Do not soak the Alliance Gel Sleeve in alcohol. Wipe the sleeve with a the cloth thoroughly, wipe dry with a towel. To remove a stain on the fabric side, use a cloth dampened in nail polish remover and rub until clean. Do NOT soak in nail polish or you will dissolve the gel!

    Precautions

    Hand wash only, machine washing can damage the sleeve. Avoid petroleum jelly and other oil based lubricants, as they will damage your Amputee Essentials sleeve. Do Not soak your Alliance Sleeve in alcohol.
