STEP 1: Top & Bottom

Measure the circumference of your limb 4cm and 30cm up from the bottom. Continue to STEP 2: Find your size

STEP 2: Find your size

Take both your top and bottom measurements and use the chart to determine your size. If you're in-between sizes, we suggest remeasuring again to be on safe side. If the size you arrived at after measuring seems too big or small, in some cases it helps to use the size of your current liner as a very rough guide. If your old liner is an Ossur liner the size is printed on the front. Continue to STEP 3: Length

SIZE TOP (cm) BOTTOM (cm)
Small 20 - 27 15 - 22
Medium 23 - 36 18 - 26
Medium + 33 - 50 20 - 28
Large 36 - 55 25 - 33
Large + 40 - 60 28 - 40
X-Large 43 - 65 33 - 45

STEP 3: Length

Length is a matter of preference. You can trim this liner with a very sharp scissors. Start by applying your Iceform Liner and mark on the liner where you want to trim. Remove your liner and trim at your mark.

When measuring your thigh, pay special attention to how tight you take your measurement. It's best to pull the ends of your tape measure somewhat tight and then release. Your goal is to find a middle ground of how much tension you should apply to your measuring tape. Too tight and too loose will both result in a poorly fitting prosthetic liner.

Ossur Iceform Liner Description

The Iceform Prosthetic Liner is the first liner offered by Ossur made with gel vs. silicone. This means Ossur now offers a prosthetic liner that can begin to take the shape of your residual limb when exposed to your body heat over time. Ossur's Iceform Prosthetic Liner is indicated for low to moderate activity prosthetic users.

Ossur Iceform Locking Liner helps suspend your prosthesis using a pin lock system.

The Iceform Locking Prosthetic Liner is designed for use with either pin or lanyard locking systems. This locking liner does not include either a pin or lanyard strap.

Ossur Iceform Cushion Prosthetic Liner is designed to protect your skin and not provide suspension.

Ossur recommends that the Iceform Cushion Liner be used in conjunction with the Iceform Sleeve. Using this combination should create a suction (vs. vacuum) fit.

Ossur has been in the business of making liners for over 30 years and they certainly know how to manufacture a quality and durable prosthetic liner. Ossur was the first company to patent the first silicone liner Iceross in 1986. You can retrofit most Alps and OWW prosthetic liners with an Iceform Liner.
